Social History of Monasticism

13. May 2016

International workshop

We have invited two internationally renowned scholars on monastic history to come talk to us about their ongoing projects and discuss their approaches and sources:

Emilia Jamroziak is Professor of Medieval Religious History at the University of Leeds. She is an expert on the religious history of the British Isles and the comparative religious history of Europe and her publications show a strong tendency towards eastern Europe.

Our second guest is PD Dr. Cristina Andenna from the Research Center for the Comparative History of Religious Orders (FOVOG) in Dresden. As her institutional affiliation already suggests, she is trained in comparative studies and will bring us a piece of southern Italian monastic history for this workshop.
